White Teens Kill Black Man In Mississippi

Every once and a while I come across someone who doesn't think hate crimes should exist. They say things like, "aren't all violent crimes driven by hate?" and stupidly look at you like they just solved the answers of the universe (on par with people who say "then why are there still monkeys?" when talking about evolution). Well, this video highlights the difference between hurting someone and hurting a someone in order to terrorize an entire group of people pretty freggin well:

Why have only two people been charged in this case? Those girls sitting in the truck get nothing? Wow. Maybe if they had smoked a joint we could get some jail time for everyone involved. Seriously, our justice system is a fucking joke.

I guess this is the post-racial America everyone keeps talking about. Sometimes I hate everyone.

  1. Racism is over. We got a black president now, y'all. Oh I am so sick of hearing that shit. That video makes me sick. I don't even know what to say. I am a little upset that it seems like none of the witnesses did anything to stop it or help. What do you do when you see someone getting the living shit beaten out of them? Stand there and wait for police? I mean, at least if someone would have spoken up and yelled at them to stop, they might have snapped out of it and ran off, sparing the man's life. They didn't know they were being watched, it seems, so they may have stopped. Someone should have run out to help him and it bothers me a lot that no one did. Not as much as it pisses me off that assholes would go out in search of someone to hurt because they were racists, but it still bothers me.

  2. That's what makes me so angry about the two girls who sat in the truck. They're innocent cause they just sat there? Fuck that. What a disgusting bunch of people.

  3. something similar to this happened in my town this year, when two white kids (that i knew pretty well, which made it much worse) beat the shit out of one of the Hispanic town gardeners, nad then spray painted a pretty racist slur on his truck while one of their girlfriends just sat on the curb and watched. since one of their dads is a member of the school board and the other's is a retired cop, they got off pretty much scot free. it was a big thing and all three were basically intimidated to transfer the next town over. i never thought those two boys were racist, and i had known them since we were all in preschool. i guess ya never know.

  4. That's horrible! I lived in a town in San Diego where these kind of racist motivated attacks weren't uncommon too. It's quite appalling. At least your school ostracized these kids when the community failed to adequately punish them.

  5. I was wondering why the family isn't speaking out about it, but then I remembered it's in Mississippi. That's one of the few states left that is proud of it's KKK and has some pretty openly racist communities. I think they may be the same state that has the segregated proms. I know it's speculation, but the situation is likely similar to D Swizzle's acquaintances where the family just knows it will do no good to fight it because of the institutionalized racism that is so prevalent in their area.

  7. I found a Facebook page with loads of information on who to contact about this case and more links to info about what's going on. I'm exhausted. First day of school and all, but I'm going to look over it tomorrow and probably write the DA and mayor, and see if I can't find a way to donate something to the family (maybe their legal fund or something).

  9. I am crying because that is so awful! That poor man. I have never understood hatred for someone just because of their race. Like Sarahbear, I was thinking while watching the video, why the fuck didn't anyone who was witnessing this say anything? Why didn't they run over to help? And a security guard nonetheless? That shit makes me sick. This whole thing makes me sick.

  10. I should also add I've never understood hatred for anyone based on their religion or sexual preference either. I don't understand a true hatred for someone that motivates you to do physical harm to that person.
I think that people who have that kind of hatred are sociopaths.

  11. Yeah, I think it's weird people think they can do things like this. You'd have to be pretty full of yourself I imagine.
