Matt Damon is Awesome

I know everyone has probably seen this video of Matt Damon, but I don't know if his comments or Anderson Cooper's response is more entertaining.

But that wasn't enough. Oh no. He went on to talk about the debt ceiling.

Did you swoon when he said "intrinsically paternalistic" and "intransigence?" Just me?

  1. I swooned. =) I also posted the second video to my Facebook profile yesterday and one of my aunts said 'This has to be sarcastic. Matt Damon is one of the biggest left wing nuts there is.' and then I told her I was one too.

I just don't get how anyone can be opposed to education.

I was watching Maddow (I think it was Maddow. I've been immersed in so many news shows this week it's ridiculous.) and they brought up how the whole education thing is another Republican fabricated issue. They use to be supportive of teachers and education, until the teachers started being supportive of Democrats and their policies. Then they started making it harder on teachers by implementing all of these useless standardized testing programs and pulling the tenure card to try to make people think poorly of teachers. It made a lot of sense and it was freaking scary at the same time.

  2. Ah gotta love conservative family. We had dinner at Ryan's parents house and the repeal of DADT got brought up and I got quite snarky. Sometimes I just don't get people.

And I haven't seen the video you're talking about but that's really interesting.

  3. My bad, it was on The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell. He did a rewrite where he mentioned the Matt Damon video and address that Republicans attacked teachers (and their unions) because they aligned themselves with Democrats.

  4. Thanks for the link! I spent a while trying to find it and ended up watching a bunch of Maddow videos. lol O'Donnell brought up a good point about the difference between police and teachers too.
