Libertarian Ad Reminds Us Libertarians are Crazy

This video, titled "A Day in the Life of the Regulatory State," is supposed to show how government regulation is out of control and basically taking over our entire lives. But instead of getting scared of the "big bad government," I'm actually far more comforted by the fact I know there's no rat poison in my toothpaste.

Usually youtube comments make me want to rip out all of my hair, but these three sum up my opinion pretty well:
BeavisSaves: Also, thanks for proving how essential governmental regulation is to ensure the safety of our citizens.

BeavisSaves: End regulation! Bring back child labor! Abolish the weekend! Bring back x-rays for shoe fitting! Let McDonalds put in mad cow tainted brains in their burgers! Replace the asbestos in my house!

  1. I love crazy people. They give the world flavor.

  2. You are missing the point in this video. They actually show you that there is too much regulation that really takes the focus away from achieving the goal that regulations are suppose to achieve.
Libertarians are cool, CEI is a great institute. I know them personally.

  3. I don't think I missed the point at all. I just disagree.

Oh and I love crazy people too. I'm crazy myself. I didn't mean to imply that anyone is a bad person.

  5. That video made me feel really good about government regulation. I LIKE that food products are required to show the ingredients on the label. I like that teens can't buy beer. Alana, I'm with you on this one.

What's on your mind?
