Shame on you California

The California courts have decided to uphold the ban on gay marriage through the initiative prop 8.

The fact that the court found it unconstitutional to deny gay couples the right to marriage equality, but “the people” were able to circumvent that by simply amending the constitution is ludicrous.

The only silver lining is the courts oh so generous decision that the 18,000 gay couples that got married get to remain so.

Woo. Hoo.

  2. As a California resident I'm really upset about Prop 8. For me, it was the one thing that put a damper on Obama's win. I'm glad that the same-sex couples who were married before Prop 8 passed will still be recognized, however, I feel bad for the people who decided to wait until after the election. This is what really gets to me about this issue . . . I have family members who have mixed feelings about same-sex marriage but they also understand the separation between church and state and THAT is why they voted AGAINST prop 8.
