Coulter: She's at it again

I don’t think it needs to be said that I can’t stand Ann Coulter. She is a complete waste of space and I really wish she would throw herself of the nearest cliff.

It doesn’t really bother me that for some crazy reason they give her air time, it's that there are people who actually believe what she says.

It’s always unfortunate when people don’t take the time to research things for themselves, but to believe what she says on face value is a dangerous thing. Even if she does have a valid point now and again, it is so sullied and hidden by hate that it is just easier to disregard her completely. (Plus her research has turned out to be false time and time again.)

My problem this time is with some things she said while on The View.

I could not find a shorter clip so just skip to about 4:50 (sorry). They ladies talk about this with Coulter in the next clip.

What she says really bothers me for many different reasons.

For one, she’s not black (or half black) so I think she doesn’t really have the knowledge to make statements like this. The other, these people may be half white but they look black. They would have once been segregated or sold into slavery with everyone else, so I think it’s insensitive to criticize these people for trying to reconcile the way they see themselves with the way the world sees them.

That's not too bad for Coulter, but I wanted to seriously punch someone after watching this clip:

Seriously, what is she thinking? I know I shouldn’t be surprised after watching her attack the 9/11 widows, but I can’t believe she would attack single mothers. I understand that being raised in a two parent household is the ideal, but to blame these mothers is outrageous.
In any event, divorced mothers should be called "divorced mothers," not "single mothers." We also have a term for the youngsters involved: "the children of divorce," or as I call them, "future strippers." It is a mark of how attractive it is to be a phony victim that divorcées will often claim to belong to the more disreputable category of "single mothers." [Page 36]

She assumes that these mothers chose to be single parents, which simply isn’t true (and of the people who do choose to be single parents, they usually have the financial means to do so). She also doesn’t take any socioeconomic reasons into consideration, i.e. class, education, race, or age.

The truth of the matter is, low socioeconomic status is a factor in predicting single motherhood AND incarceration.

And why is this the fault of only the mother? What about the missing fathers? What about all the ways that society fails these women? I can’t begin to understand how Coulter can attack these women, but still defend the institutions that make it harder for these mothers to raise their children.

I'm glad Whoopi asked Coulter if she is married or has any children. If someone is going to attack an entire group of women who struggle each day to pull together a livelihood for their children she should be prepared to answer personal questions about her own circumstance regarding children. Coulter also doesn’t see any difference between teenage motherhood and widows or women who left abusive relationships.

Are these mothers to blame as well? Of course!

But do any of these things really matter? No, because she claims this was a plan perpetrated by liberals because they secretly hate marriage.

It just boggles the mind that people would listen to her and buy her book. Here are some quotes from Wiki quote:
“I think the government should be spying on all Arabs, engaging in torture as a televised spectator sport, dropping daisy cutters wantonly throughout the Middle East and sending liberals to Guantanamo.”

“Not all Muslims may be terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims.”

“These people can't even wrap up genocide. We've been hearing about this slaughter in Darfur forever — and they still haven't finished. The aggressors are moving like termites across that country. It's like genocide by committee. Who's running this holocaust in Darfur, FEMA? This is truly a war in which we have absolutely no interest.”

“I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word "faggot", so I — so kind of an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards.”

“The ethic of conservation is the explicit abnegation of man's dominion over the Earth. The lower species are here for our use. God said so: Go forth, be fruitful, multiply, and rape the planet — it's yours. That's our job: drilling, mining and stripping. Sweaters are the anti-Biblical view. Big gas-guzzling cars with phones and CD players and wet bars — that's the Biblical view.”

“I would like evolution to join the roster of other discredited religions, like the Cargo Cult of the South Pacific. Practitioners of Cargo Cult believed that manufactured products were created by ancestral spirits, and if they imitated what they had seen the white man do, they could cause airplanes to appear out of the sky, bringing valuable cargo like radios and TVs. So they constructed “airport towers” out of bamboo and “headphones” out of coconuts and waited for the airplanes to come with the cargo. It may sound silly, but in defense of the Cargo Cult, they did not wait as long for evidence supporting their theory as the Darwinists have waited for evidence supporting theirs.”

“They're [Democrats] always accusing us of repressing their speech. I say let's do it. Let's repress them. Frankly, I'm not a big fan of the First Amendment.”

“The man [Bush] responsible for keeping Americans safe from another terrorist attack on American soil for nearly seven years now will go down in history as one of America's greatest presidents.”

“Apparently, even crazy people prefer targets that can't shoot back. The reason schools are consistently popular targets for mass murderers is precisely because of all the idiotic "Gun-Free School Zone" laws.”

“These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis... These self-obsessed women seemed genuinely unaware that 9/11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them... I’ve never seen people enjoying their husbands’ deaths so much.” (About the 9/11 widows)

“So for those of you who haven't read any of my five best-selling books: Liberals are driven by Satan and lie constantly.”

“My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building.”

“I think [women] should be armed but should not vote...women have no capacity to understand how money is earned. They have a lot of ideas on how to spend's always more money on education, more money on child care, more money on day care.”

I’m ashamed to live in the same country as her.

  1. There was a time when I wanted to be the left's Ann Coulter- except right (as in "correct") in my crazy statements.

Every one knows she's nuts and purposefully antagonistic, though, which is the good thing. It reminds me of something Bill Maher said last year when Coulter said she'd vote for Hillary Clinton over McCain: "Ann Coulter saying something for publicity? No!" :)

  2. It's just sad some people actually buy into what she says.

I did subscribe to her newletter though. lol

I'm thinking of it as an investment for future content to bitch about. :)

  3. Ann Coulter is nasty!! I wouldnt touch her with yours!!! No wonder she is single with no children!!!!

  4. hahaha

    they always call her a tranny. I know it's mean...but I can't help but giggle. :)

What's on your mind?
