It turns out that among Californians with a high school diploma or less, 69 percent voted for Proposition 8. Among college graduates, 57 percent voted against it. Even though large percentages were black and Latino voters, the main reasons are socioeconomic and not racial. (I had a hard time finding a link but this article goes into more detail.)
I am always amazed at the differences a college education makes, especially in matters of religion. I find it amusing that statistically, the higher ones education level, the less likely they are to be religious. I guess that’s not too surprising when people ask questions like, “If we came from monkeys, then why are there still monkeys?” (Please do the world a favor and jump of the nearest cliff.)
People loathe admitting it, but in situations like this the difference is so clearly obvious.
